Vistry has completed construction, and the first handover of affordable homes at its 400-home King James’ Park development in Newmarket, Suffolk.

Four shared ownership properties have been handed over to Clarion Housing Association, marking the start of a programme that will see 200 affordable homes delivered at the development.

The 200 homes being delivered in partnership with Clarion account for half of the overall scheme. The remaining 200 homes will be built for private sale under Vistry’s Bovis Homes and Linden Homes brands.

Construction continues across Newmarket scheme

The wider development includes a multi-use games area, neighbourhood play area, public open space and enhanced natural habitat.

New footpaths and cycle routes will also be delivered as part of the scheme.

Of the affordable homes, Latimer by Clarion Housing Group is offering 36 properties for shared ownership. These include one, two and three-bedroom bungalows and houses.

Construction is continuing across the wider development, which is expected to complete in 2029.

Verity Macey, Managing Director at Vistry Central Home Counties, said: “The first handover to Clarion marks an important milestone in the delivery of King James’ Park and the start of our commitment to provide 200 affordable homes at the development.

“These first four shared ownership homes will help more people take a step onto the property ladder, while contributing to the creation of a balanced and sustainable new community.

“Working in partnership with Clarion, we look forward to delivering high-quality homes that meet local housing needs and create lasting value for Newmarket.”
