Sovini Group advances major ‘Sefton 2030’ construction scheme
Plans are progressing for Sovini Group’s redevelopment of the former St Raymond’s Catholic Primary School site in Netherton, marking one of the first major construction projects under the Sefton 2030 partnership with Sefton Council.
Subject to planning approval, the scheme will deliver more than 50 new homes while bringing a vacant brownfield site back into productive use as part of a wider programme to construct more than 1,000 homes across the borough by 2030.
The development will also deliver supporting infrastructure, including new road layouts, sustainable drainage systems and associated public realm works, with the project forming a key phase in Sefton’s long-term regeneration and housing delivery strategy.
Affordable housing programme targets regeneration and infrastructure investment
Alongside the new homes, the development will include supporting infrastructure, with plans for new road layouts, sustainable drainage systems and coordination with local education and healthcare providers.

Sovini- Sefton 2030
The wider Sefton 2030 programme is designed to deliver social, affordable and accessible housing while supporting economic growth across the borough, with commercial returns reinvested into future regeneration projects.
Roy Williams, Chief Executive of The Sovini Group, said: “Here at St Raymond’s, and through Sefton 2030, we deliver more than just homes for local people – we will regenerate communities, invest in the local economy, and provide apprenticeships and meaningful employment that will change lives.”
Partnership aims to boost affordable housing delivery
Peter Dowd, MP for Bootle, said: “Sefton 2030 is a collaboration with The Sovini Group to ensure we deliver the homes so desperately needed across our communities.
“St Raymond’s is just one of the first steps as we prioritise the delivery of affordable homes, as well as local infrastructure and services.”
Councillor Phil Hart, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for housing, added: “Sefton 2030 is about much more than building new homes. It is about creating thriving, sustainable communities, supporting local people and ensuring growth benefits every part of our borough.
