Sika projects recognised in six categories at 2025 SPRA Awards
Sika and its Roofing Division has been shortlisted in six categories at the 2025 Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) Awards, with multiple projects recognised for technical execution, sustainability, and innovation in roofing.
The annual SPRA Awards highlight outstanding contributions to the single ply roofing industry.
This year, Sika and its contractor partners have been recognised for a wide range of work, including refurbishments, new-builds, and environmentally focused schemes.
In the Best Refurbishment and Best Detailing categories, the Robin House hospice project in Balloch, delivered with Aim Developments, involved a 650m² roof replacement on a children’s care facility. The work required attention to detail and careful planning around an operational healthcare site.
The Art Shack project at HMP Hollesley Bay, completed with GLA Group, is shortlisted for Best Small Project. Located within a Category D prison and Young Offender Institution, the refurbishment involved prisoners who had previously taken part in roofing training programmes—offering a rare combination of vocational learning and practical application.
In the Sustainability category, two projects received nominations:
-
J Smart Office Buildings, London (with Ashton Building Systems), one of the first to feature Sika Roof Anchors for photovoltaic (PV) system integration.
-
Cow Green, Halifax (with Briggs Amasco), a residential development with energy-efficient apartments, bike storage, and EV charging, described as the client’s most sustainable project to date.
The Maritime Academy in Rochester is a finalist in the Best New Build category.
Delivered with Marksman Roofing & Cladding, the secondary school features a technically complex roofscape with bespoke rooflights, waterproofed using Sikaplan® G-15.
Also shortlisted in Best Refurbishment and Health and Safety Award categories, the Capita Park project in Rotherham involved an 11,000m² roof refurbishment over a live call centre. Delivered with Central Group, the project required detailed planning to maintain operations while ensuring safe site management.
