Robertson Construction Yorkshire & East Midlands has secured a place on YORhub’s new £1.5 billion YORbuild Major Works 2 Framework, providing access to major public sector construction projects across Yorkshire and the Humber.

The contractor has been appointed to Lot 1 of the framework, which covers projects valued between £10 million and £30 million, enabling it to bid for a range of public sector developments over the framework’s duration.

Managed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Leeds City Council, the framework provides a procurement route for major building projects, including new-build developments, refurbishments, contractor-designed schemes, decarbonisation projects, maintenance works and term contracts.

Framework supports regional construction pipeline

The YORbuild Major Works 2 Framework places a strong emphasis on delivering social value, responsible procurement and creating opportunities for regional supply chains alongside value for money.

Robertson already holds a position on the YORbuild3 Medium Works framework, which runs until April 2028 and covers projects valued between £4 million and £10 million.

Current projects delivered through the framework include the construction of a £9 million teaching block at Bingley Grammar School for Bradford Council, while the contractor recently completed a sustainable engineering and science innovation hub at Chesterfield College.

Social value delivery remains key focus

Robertson said it will continue to prioritise social value through its latest framework appointment.

At Chesterfield College, the project generated 28 local full-time jobs, delivered 270 apprenticeship weeks and supported local businesses through the supply chain, creating £6.5 million of social value under the National TOMs Framework. The development also achieved two perfect Considerate Constructors Scheme scores before winning Gold at the 2026 CCS National Site Awards.

The contractor is also supporting YORhub’s YOR4Good community fund through initiatives including the creation of a sensory garden at Chesterfield College and improvements to outdoor learning spaces at Parkside Primary Academy, including new SEND facilities.

Jonathan Sizer, Regional Managing Director at Robertson Construction Yorkshire & East Midlands, said: “Our strong relationship with YORhub has helped us deliver high-quality projects across the region. Securing a place on YORbuild Major Works 2 means we can further build on the successful projects to date by supporting even more partners to achieve their ambitions while creating lasting value for the local communities and supply chains.”
