Redford Developments has appointed former Lovell Partnerships Head of Finance Phil Partridge as Finance Director, as the Warwickshire-based developer expands its brownfield development pipeline.

Partridge joins Redford after four and a half years at Lovell Partnerships, the housebuilding and partnerships division of Morgan Sindall Group, where he was part of the senior management team and supported financial strategy, decision-making and controls.

He previously spent time at Catesby Estates, part of Urban&Civic, where he progressed to Director of Finance. Partridge has 25 years of finance experience and is a Chartered Accountant (CIMA).

Redford expands leadership team

Partridge will join the board of Redford Developments, which was established in late 2025 following the sale of Rainier Developments in October 2025.

Phil Partridge- Redford Developments

Richard Mees, Chief Executive of Redford Developments, said: “Phil and I worked together at Catesby Estates plc, which was previously owned by our Chairman Eric Grove, so Phil’s experience, skills and attitude is already well known to myself and the board at Redford Development Limited.

“We therefore couldn’t be happier with this appointment. Since we last worked together, Phil has gained invaluable experience in the housebuilding sector at Lovell Partnerships. Phil will be joining the board of Redford Developments Limited from day one and it is great to have him in the team.”

Partridge said the move would allow him to work across the company’s development and investment activity.

Phil Partridge, Finance Director of Redford Developments, said: “Joining a newly formed business after 13 years of working for plcs is an exciting change, especially as I know Richard and Eric so well.

“The opportunity to be part of a senior team who have already acquired a number of nationally significant sites for redevelopment really appealed to me. I look forward to structuring many more deals, working alongside consultants, partners, funders and housebuilders.”

Brownfield development pipeline spans Midlands and South

Redford’s current portfolio has the potential to accommodate 1,200 homes and 80,000 sq ft of commercial space.

The company focuses on strategic planning and promotion of previously developed land with residential potential, alongside the acquisition and redevelopment of commercial assets.

Recent projects include an outline planning application submitted to Swindon Borough Council for the redevelopment of the former Nationwide headquarters into 175 homes.

In Coventry, Redford has acquired the former E.ON UK headquarters at Westwood Business Park. A planning application is being considered for the redevelopment of the 3.8-hectare site for up to 100 homes.

The developer has also secured outline planning permission for a 1.8-hectare brownfield site near the University of Warwick to be redeveloped as a 400-bed purpose-built student accommodation scheme.

Developer progresses regeneration schemes

In Coventry city centre, Redford has been working with Coventry City Council on the future of the four-acre Coventry Central Baths site, which has been vacant since 2020. Listed Building Consent for demolition has been granted by the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

In Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, construction has concluded on the Charles Green Residences scheme on Tenby Street. Delivered with the Housing Growth Partnership, the project provides 39 one- and two-bedroom apartments and duplexes alongside new premises for jeweller Charles Green.

Redford and Wavensmere Homes have also submitted a detailed planning application for Waterway House in Nottingham, a proposed co-living development of more than 300 studio apartments close to Nottingham railway station and Express Transit.

Elsewhere, the developer acquired a vacant commercial building in Farnham, Surrey, from Waverley Borough Council. Following a change of use to leisure, the building has been converted into a pickleball and padel centre following a £2.75 million fit-out.

The company’s development activity is predominantly focused on the Midlands and South, with projects spanning residential, student accommodation, co-living and commercial regeneration.
