Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is contributing funding towards a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) at Blackford Primary School in Cumbria, alongside community engagement work linked to the Harker 132kV Overhead Line project.

The development follows a STEM engagement session delivered at the school, where pupils took part in hands-on science, technology, engineering and maths activities designed to introduce engineering concepts through practical learning.

The upcoming MUGA will replace outdoor space that is currently limited by weather conditions, enabling year-round use for sport, exercise, play and community activity.

“Blackford Primary School is a vital part of this rural area, and we’re proud to support its pupils and local residents with facilities that will improve health, wellbeing, and social connections for years to come.”

Blackford Primary School said the new facility will provide a long-term benefit for pupils and the wider community.

Lindsey Slater, head teacher at Blackford Primary School, said: “This investment is transformational for our school and the wider community. The new Multi Use Games Area will give our pupils and local families a safe, high-quality space for sports and play all year round.

We’re incredibly grateful to Morgan Sindall Infrastructure for helping us realise a long-standing ambition for the Blackford Community.”
