McLaughlin & Harvey wins £70m Holborn Circus contract
McLaughlin & Harvey has been appointed by Evans Randall Investors to deliver the £70m main construction contract for the redevelopment of Thavies Inn House in London.
Designed by Wilkinson Eyre, the scheme will replace the existing 10-storey building on the southern side of Holborn Circus, between New Fetter Lane and St Andrew Street.
The redevelopment will double the existing floorspace, creating 90,000 sq ft of office space alongside 2,000 sq ft of retail space at ground floor level.

McLaughlin & Harvey is expected to begin its construction works in Q4 2026 following a period of pre-commencement activity.
Lawrence Brown, Regional Commercial Director at McLaughlin & Harvey, said: “We’re thrilled to have been appointed for this redevelopment in one of London’s most prominent commercial locations. Collaborating closely with our partners, we look forward to bringing this exciting vision to life, delivering a landmark development that will leave a lasting positive impact on the City of London.”
Evans Randall Investors Managing Director Operations Ned Williams said the start of demolition reflected confidence in the project and the London office market.
“Starting on site is a clear statement of our confidence in the project and is good news for London’s occupational market and its continued appetite for best-in-class workspace. Occupiers are prioritising quality, location and amenity, and this scheme delivers all three.”
