Build North Expo is heading to Newcastle for the first time in January 2027, bringing contractors, developers, manufacturers and suppliers together to build business connections and explore opportunities across the North East construction sector.

The North East is set to take centre stage as Build North Expo expands its reach across the UK construction industry, with the one-day exhibition arriving at Utilita Arena Newcastle on 14th January 2027.

Following its Liverpool event in June 2026, the move to Tyneside marks the next step in the expo’s expansion, opening up new opportunities for businesses to connect with contractors, consultants, merchants and decision-makers across the regional supply chain.

With housebuilding, infrastructure investment and regeneration shaping activity across Tyne and Wear, County Durham and the wider North East, Newcastle offers a new location for construction businesses to meet potential customers, showcase products and develop commercial relationships.

Connecting the North East construction supply chain

Build North Expo is designed to bring different parts of the construction industry together under one roof, from housebuilders and civil engineering contractors to roofing specialists, scaffolding firms, interiors businesses, utilities providers and renewable energy companies.

For suppliers and manufacturers, the Newcastle event offers an opportunity to reach a new audience of industry professionals and demonstrate how their products and services can support construction projects.

Contractors, developers and merchants will be able to meet suppliers, explore new products and technologies, and make connections that could support current and future work.

The exhibition will cover building materials, construction technology, digital solutions, renewable energy, equipment, workwear, health and safety, training and professional services.

The aim is to make it easier for visitors to identify relevant businesses, discuss project requirements and explore practical solutions to the challenges facing construction.

A platform for innovation and project delivery

Construction businesses continue to navigate pressures around costs, procurement, skills availability, compliance and programme delivery. Access to reliable suppliers, suitable equipment and emerging technologies can all play a role in managing these challenges.

Build North Expo Newcastle will provide a forum for businesses to exchange knowledge, discover products and discuss approaches to improving construction processes.

Live demonstration sessions will give exhibitors the opportunity to present products, technologies and services in action, with themes including sustainable building, workforce development, digital innovation and project delivery.

The event is also supported by Constructing Excellence North East (CENE), which brings regional supply chain knowledge and a focus on improvement and innovation.

By bringing together businesses from across the built environment, the exhibition aims to encourage collaboration between companies that may not otherwise have the opportunity to meet.

Why Newcastle, and why now?

Taking Build North Expo to Tyneside gives the event access to a different regional audience, while creating opportunities for North East businesses to connect with suppliers and contractors from further afield.

Newcastle’s position within the wider Northern market makes it a base for businesses working across housing, commercial development, infrastructure and specialist construction services.

For exhibitors, the event offers a route to raise their profile among potential customers and establish new contacts. For visitors, it provides a focused opportunity to explore the supply chain, compare solutions and discuss upcoming projects.

Build North Expo Newcastle takes place on Thursday 14 January 2027 at Utilita Arena Newcastle.
