Groundworks have commenced on a 93-home residential development forming part of the Riverside Sunderland regeneration programme.

The apartment blocks will provide 41 apartments and two commercial units, while a further 52 homes will complete the scheme, bringing the total number of homes across the development to 93.
Foundations and drainage works underway
Groundworks began during the summer to prepare the foundations and drainage infrastructure for the development.
The works are now nearing completion ahead of the installation of timber frames for the houses, which is scheduled to begin from September.
The scheme has been designed with a focus on energy performance and incorporates a range of low-carbon technologies.
These include photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery systems.
Falcon Fox Developments is the principal contractor for the residential phase and is delivering the project as part of the wider Riverside Sunderland regeneration programme.
