Construction and Engineering Week 2026 will return to the Lincolnshire Showground this September, giving thousands of young people the opportunity to explore careers in construction and engineering through practical, employer-led activities.
Taking place from 22 to 24 September 2026, the annual event will bring together employers, schools and industry organisations to showcase career opportunities and help address long-term skills shortages across the sector.
Sponsored by CITB, ECITB and the Humber Energy Board, the event is now in its 22nd year and will welcome primary, secondary and SEND pupils from across the region.
Construction employers invited to inspire future workforce
The three-day programme has been designed to introduce young people to the wide range of careers available across construction and engineering through interactive demonstrations and hands-on experiences.

The opening day will focus on primary school pupils, while the second and third days will be dedicated to SEND learners and secondary school students.
Employers are being encouraged to take part by delivering practical activities linked to their specialist trades and sectors, helping students gain a better understanding of career pathways while promoting opportunities within their businesses.
Organisers say participation also enables businesses to raise awareness of construction careers, support local education initiatives and engage directly with the industry’s future workforce.
2025 event attracted more than 1,500 young people
More than 50 companies from across Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and the Humber supported the event in 2025, with over 1,500 young people aged between 10 and 18 attending across the three days.
Post-event feedback highlighted the impact of the programme, with 79% of participants reporting they had a better understanding of what employers look for, while 71% said the event had helped them develop skills relevant to the industry.
