Constructing Excellence, the national organisation behind the event, promotes collaboration, innovation and best practice across the built environment through its regional networks.

Caroline Key, Co-Chair of Constructing Excellence Yorkshire & Humber Club, said: “The North has a real opportunity to lead the way in how the built environment collaborates, innovates and delivers at scale. This conference is about bringing together the full breadth of expertise across our regions to focus on shared challenges and turn them into practical, deliverable solutions.

“By working more closely across boundaries, we can strengthen outcomes, improve consistency and ensure the North is better connected in how it plans and delivers future growth.”

Confirmed speakers include representatives from Turner & Townsend, Constructing Excellence, NEPO, YORhub, the Leeds Sustainability Institute, Trowers & Hamlins LLP, Esh Group, Tyr Law and Connected Places Catapult.

Interactive workshops to focus on value, SMEs and major projects

The conference programme will include a series of workshops and interactive sessions examining procurement, value-based decision-making, retrofit, net zero and supply chain collaboration.

One session will use a “Value vs Cost” Lego simulation to demonstrate how conflicting project priorities can affect delivery outcomes and how the Value Toolkit can help align objectives from the outset.

Another session will examine collaboration between SMEs and Tier 1 contractors, including discussion around procurement legislation, framework delivery and reducing administrative burdens for smaller businesses.

Delegates will also hear updates on major infrastructure projects across the North, public sector procurement models, sustainable construction and innovation, alongside examples of award-winning projects delivered through Constructing Excellence regional networks.

YORhub is the headline sponsor of the conference, with Blazetrap, Bradley O’Mahoney and Tyr Law confirmed as event partners. Further speakers and sponsors will be announced ahead of the event.
