The mechanical works included above-ground drainage, domestic water services, low-temperature hot water heating, underfloor heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
The contractor also installed incoming mains, thermal insulation, building management systems and air source heat pumps. The building management systems are designed to monitor and control energy use across the campus.
The electrical package included low-voltage installations, fire and intruder alarms, security systems, lighting and lighting controls, earthing and bonding, lightning protection and data systems.
Castle also installed induction loops and electric vehicle charging infrastructure as part of the wider services package.
The systems were designed and installed to meet the energy efficiency and performance requirements associated with Passivhaus certification.
