Bellway to build 96 homes on former Romford Hospital site
Bellway Thames Gateway is building 96 homes on the former Harold Wood Hospital site in Romford, with the first properties now released for sale.
The Comptons development is being delivered on land off Copse Avenue that was previously used by the NHS and forms one of the final phases of the wider redevelopment of the hospital site.
Construction is progressing on the development, with three and four-bedroom house designs among the first plots being delivered.

The development will also include affordable one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
Communal gardens and play space are planned as part of the scheme, with some existing trees retained alongside new planting.
Ed Brading, Acting Head of Sales for Bellway Thames Gateway, said: “We are making good progress with construction at The Comptons, and are looking forward to opening a sales office on site later this year.
“In the meantime, we have released the first houses for sale from our nearby Roe Wood Park development, such is the interest in these high-quality new homes.
“The well-connected location of The Comptons is a real draw for buyers in the area, with Harold Wood railway station just a 10-minute walk away for quick access to Crossrail services.

“But this is a development which will bring real benefits to the local area, transforming a redundant brownfield site into a new residential neighbourhood.
“As well as providing high-quality housing and new public open space, we are also creating additional parking for the neighbouring NHS Harold Wood Polyclinic, and investing more than £1.3 million in local infrastructure such as schools and public transport.”

The scheme will provide new public open space alongside the residential development, while additional parking is being created for the neighbouring NHS Harold Wood Polyclinic.
Bellway is also investing more than £1.3 million in local infrastructure, including schools and public transport.
Solar PV included across new Bellway homes
The new houses have been designed with energy efficiency measures including solar photovoltaic panels on their roofs to generate renewable electricity.
